New Picks

Well, it's been a while since I've been able to post here. But, I do have some new picks that I think are worth a second look. At this point most stocks have had decent gains, so the perfect strategy would be to buy an initial position, and add to it on weakness at support, or at resistance if it breaks out.

I really like MVIS - Microvision. This is a U.S. company that makes a Pico Laser display unit. A good entry for this one would be at 2.50 - 2.60 but not so sure it'll correct to that point.

RMX - Rubicon Minerals has large property land claims in the Red Lake area. They have enough cash to explore and prove up resources.

lastly, a high flyer. SGX - Sage Gold has been the "dog of the year!". But I've noticed something very odd recently. The stock is stuck in the .06 - .07 cent range, and trades about 1/10th the price of KXL - Kodiak. So if Kodiak is at .60 cents, then Sage will be at .06. What's been happening is most of the sells appear to be coming from retail investor accounts and the buys have been larger brokerages, but still in small enough quantities. Raymond James, Canaccord and Dundee have been "dipping in their toes". LOL. They've also begun their summer drill program. It's worth a shot at this price.

Good luck

Movers

Well, it seems APH-V is stuck, but these movers warrant a 2nd post today.
MMU-V - Marum Resources has a Joint venture with San Gold in the Rice Lake area. Had a good rise today, so possibly wait for a pullback. This one went up on unusual volume.
CMM-V - Century Mining also had unusual volume today, with increase in stock price.
WTM-T - West Timmins Mining and LSG-T - Lakeshore Gold both looking strong today.

Pick of the day

Well, I haven't had much to say these past few days. Golds are still looking good and I would continue to hold even during wild up/down swings.
Pre-market, V-APH - Alda Pharmaceuticals is looking to gap up and if it can break over .26 would be a bullish sign because the stock has a symmetrical triangle pattern.
I'm still bullish on San Gold, and would like to add another stock that's on my watchlist but I don't yet own. CRJ-T - Claude Resources. This company has a mine that's in production in Saskatchewan, which generates low revenues. What makes this one so attractive are their Red Lake mine property. It's the old Madsen mine and is currently being developed, with deeper drilling in the area. Keep an eye on this one. The stock has support at .70 and resistance at .85 and is currently trading on fairly low volume. Watch for any spike in volume and a move over .80 cents.

Good luck!

Gold

Just a quick note for my picks today. I'm still very bullish on SGR-T San Gold over the long term. Gold is hovering at $950 an ounce, but in Canadian dollars that's $1,168. You may find this link for commodities priced in C$ useful.

Dale Ginn from San Gold did a radio interview last week that you should take a listen too. The new Hinge Zone of gold will have costs of less than $200/ounce "all in". What this means is that their costs include everything right down to the paperclips used in the office. When the hinge goes into production it will be one of the lowest cost producers.

Market Comments

Well, hope someone reads this! Yesterday, the Federal Reserve announced the purchase of $300 billion worth of debt, and in turn, another massive printing of US$. Within minutes of the announcement the markets took off like a rocket along with gold which shot up from a low of $883 up to $940. As I type this, gold is still climbing.
Normally I would only do one stock pick of the day, but the recent rise in gold, along with the Feds massive printing of US$ warrants several.
My picks of the day:
  • San Gold - SGR.V (They just released news this morning)
  • IamGold - IMG.T
  • Northern Dynasty - NDM.T

Of course, if you're adverse to choosing individual stocks, HGU, the Horizon Beta Pro Gold bull index would also be a good choice, although this can be extremely volatile and it should have been purchased yesterday when gold fell and began to regain some of the losses.

Good Luck today!

Carpe Diem!

Well, here it is, my first attempt at daily blogging. The main purpose of this site will be to discuss "optimistic" viewpoints and to post uplifting stories and positive news. In today's world, that may be difficult to find but I intend to do my best.
The other purpose of this blog will be to give my insights into certain stocks that I currently own, or are following. There's some great opportunities in the markets right now and specifically, Canadian businesses. We have forestry products, a sound banking system, grains and corn, dairy, a fishing industry, and my favourite, mining and precious metal stocks.
I am very optimistic that we will all get through these difficult economic times.
A friend of mine had a favourite motto..."Carpe Diem"! Sieze the day, or live in the moment. Think and be POSITIVE! Spend time with your family and friends...enjoy life, love and care for one another. It's time to come together and enrich our lives with things that matter.
CARPE DIEM!
